As a career Soldier in the U.S. Army, running is a way of life. He is passionate about the sport of running and credits the mental toughness and discipline learned from running directly to his success in life. Running enabled him to overcome the challenges of a broken home and on to a successful military career.
His mantra, “Do Hard Things” has inspired many to take on difficult challenges in life. Jay has trained and ran distances from 400 meters through 50K. Jay is a multi-sport athlete with experience in triathlon, adventure racing, mountain biking, ultra distances in canoeing and cycling, and obstacle course racing. He has experience as a group fitness instructor and has experience promoting race events and as a professional timer.
